Nobody should need an excuse to eat a pie, but if you do
need one, here it is! It is National Pi Day!
National Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (03/14) because the constant Pi is
approximately 3.14. How ironic that the shape of a “pie” tends to be round!
Traditionally Pi Day has been observed in many ways, including eating pie,
throwing pies and discussing the significance of the pi symbol. The earliest
known official celebration was organized by Larry Shaw in 1988 at the San
Francisco Exploratorium marching around its circular shapes and consuming fruit
pies. (Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pi_Day)
Since eating a pie for National Pie Day is a tradition, and
what is better to celebrate National Pi Day than enjoying a pie from Amphora
Bakery!
Our Cake and Pie of the month (Irish Coffee Cake and
Black and Tan Pie) are still available, but if you prefer, we have a lot of
different pies that will be perfect and decorated for this occasion. Stop by
Amphora Bakery for a selection of our full size pies, or swing by Amphora
